Total Solar Eclipse!

Today Al, Julian, and I were all together on the front porch watching the total solar eclipse that happened to pass directly over Greenville.  So fortunate!  It was an amazing thing to watch, especially the darkness that accompanied totality.  Not like nighttime, but more like deep dusk.  Amazing that just a tiny sliver of the sun can cause such a difference in brightness on the earth!

This was the first image we saw with our eclipse glasses.

Thankfully, no one got any visual damage.  The glasses worked beautifully.

And of course, on Saturday, we had to get eclipse doughnuts at Krispy Kreme.  We actually waited in line for 30 minutes for these!  (And they were double the normal price!)  Worth it, though.  Glad we missed the 3 hour wait on Sunday!  Best marketing ever...

We may never see another total solar eclipse, but this one definitely lived up to the hype.  I don't think I will become an eclipse chaser.  2 minutes 10 seconds is just too fleeting.
